JamPaint’s code contains working examples of how to use NBP and LAP networking calls, events, windows, quick draw, dialogs, etc... The code is guaranteed to contain at least everything in this program.
It is suggested that you use a System before 6.0. For some reason AppleTalk is very much slower with System 6.0.
This product can be distributed freely as long as this documentation is bundled with JamPaint. If you put JamPaint into you library then please send us your catalog or a copy of your newsletter. Thanks, we like to know where we are at.
MiniDocs
JamPaint works like any standard Macintosh paint program. The following is a list of the not so standard features found in JamPaint.
Double–Clicking
Eraser: Erases the entire screen.
Spray Can: Lets the user resize the spray can’s diameter and change the can’s flow rate from 1-255.
Patterns: Lets the user edit the existing pattern.
H,V Tools: Lets the user resize the pen size.
Paste Graphic/TEXT
To paste a PICT or TEXT resource that is in the clipboard press <Command> V and then click where you want the picture/text to be dropped in. The picture/text will not be placed if you click outside of the window or in the palatte.
The outline of an oval or rectangle will be the current pattern if the user holds down the <Option> key while starting to drag.
The top right tool is used to switch between connecting line mode and dot mode so to speak. To see the difference just draw a line in both modes.
Problems:
If JamPaint beeps and quits on launch then it cannot open the Network and AppleTalk is probably made inactive in the Chooser.
Little Notes:
JamPaint will open and save documents as MacPaint documents.
Color on the Mac II doesn’t yet work.
The “Effects” menu is still experimental and will be better implemented when a selection tool is implemented.
JamPaint is fully compatible with MindVision’s latest product: “Tear–Off” menus/Accessible Menus. For more information write to MindVision.
